In the Secondary Years, EtonHouse offers the Cambridge approved International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) Programme in Singapore and China, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) in China.
Over the years EtonHouse has developed a culture of academic rigor, caring and individualised support for students in the Secondary Years. Our curriculum fuses a proactive use of information technology and inquiry-based learning with the development of the essential skills required to successfully complete the school years. Not only does the EtonHouse programme provide excellent support for the Senior Years but also for college education and future employment.
Reinforced learning with our interdisciplinary approach
EtonHouse is committed to a fluid transdisciplinary approach to education. The secondary school environments ensure that learning objectives in one subject flow into others, consolidating learning and allowing students to make personally meaningful connections through experiential tasks. For example, map skills in Geography might feed into compass directions, coordinates and scale in Mathematics, which could feed into orienteering in Outdoor Education.
A student-centric, personal approach to learning
EtonHouse students help to shape the curriculum. Working within a structured, carefully planned framework, an important part of the EtonHouse approach is to allow students to select project work that interests them around a chosen course theme. Students are also supported to connect their theoretical learning to practical applications. For students who are initially weak in English, the English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme is designed to get them quickly up to speed so that they can take an active role in the classroom as soon as possible.
